Yin & Yang

What does it mean and how may this be reflected in your interiors?

Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity, and penetration.

My interpretation of this, purely from a colour scheme perspective is:

For the last… decade? give or take a little; white and minimalist interiors have been a popular choice. However, white, and nearly whites, are representative of the “masculine”. Shocker - I know! Although white may feel clean and fresh, it’s restless and stimulating.

Darker interiors are increasing in popularity. I think we could all do with some earthy, grounding in our living spaces. Try welcoming some “feminine” energy into your chill-out spaces with some darker, earthier shades. You’ll be surprised by the soft, relaxing atmosphere this can create.
