10 Good Reasons.

Who decided ceilings and skirting boards should be white?

Who said dark colours shouldn’t be used in a small room as they make a room appear smaller?

There may be situations where these may be so, but it absolutely should NOT be a rule of thumb!

If the pictures here don’t speak for themselves, here are my 10 good reason for painting everything, (by “everything” I mean: walls, ceiling, skirting, cornice/coving, radiator, window sill, window frame, fire surround, shelving, door frames and doors) IF these are paintable surfaces, the same colour:

  1. It saves cutting in - HUGE bonus right there!

  2. It loses unsightly radiators.

  3. It puts and end to harsh lines.

  4. Therefore creating flow.

  5. Makes a room appear larger BECAUSE of this continual colour flow. Even in small, dark bathrooms.

  6. Gives the feeling of a comforting cocoon with darker, earthier shades.

  7. Allows your intended features to shine through.

  8. Creates a less busy and calmer feel.

  9. It WILL transform and upgrade your interior. (That’s two.)

  10. It’s the most cost effective way to transform your space.

N.B. This is NOT limited to darker colours.

So thank you Jason Donovan for your inspiration with ‘10 Good Reasons’!

Use lamps with low watt bulbs for little pockets of light, and vary the heights. Let your eyes be drawn to the shadows these cast - not your white lines!

Go on, see how much calmer you feel and how much more you love being home.
